Addition Willoughby: All Decked Out!

ROOFTOP DECKS A SIGNATURE FEATURE OF LANGLEY TOWNHOME DEVELOPMENT BY REDEKOP FERRARIO PROPERTIES.

Go up, up, up — to take advantage of the south facing views from the rooftop decks of the townhomes in the Addition development in Langley where the Redekop Ferrario Properties’ team is adding value and relaunching the 87-home project located between the Willowbrook and Willoughby neighbourhoods.

With the first phase of 34 townhomes nearing completion and work well underway on the second phase, the rooftop decks on each home are a signature feature of the development, originally marketed as The Willoughby. Redekop Ferrario acquired the project in 2024 when the original developer was unable to complete the community, changed the name to Addition and reorganized the construction of the homes on the 4.8-acre site into six phases.

Location always matters, and Elvin Toews, Redekop Ferrario’s acquisitions and asset manager, says the site’s proximity to the Willowbrook and Willoughby hubs was a main attraction.

“

“It’s close enough that you can easily access all the amenities and all the commercial that’s available in those areas, but it’s also far enough away that you’re not surrounded by all the chaos that is sometimes (experienced) in the commercial hubs,” says Toews.

At 20335 70A Avenue, Langley, Willoughby Town Centre, Willowbrook Shopping Centre and Walnut Grove are all nearby, while the future Willowbrook SkyTrain Station will also be conveniently located for Addition residents.

Designed by WA Architects, the homes’ exteriors have a West Coast feel with large windows to let in plenty of light, while a combination of Hardie siding, corrugated metal and wood accents enhance the contemporary aesthetic.

“

“There’s a lot of articulation between the materials,” says Redekop Ferrario’s chief of staff Britt Rigues. “It doesn’t seem like it’s just a monochromatic facade — it definitely has a lot of curb appeal.”

The wood frame townhomes are all three levels with the garage (and flex room in one floor plan) on the ground level; a powder room, kitchen, dining and living room on the main level; the bedrooms and ensuite and main bathroom on the upper level; plus, the rooftop decks.

Homebuyers can choose from five floor plans ranging from 1,413 to 1,645 square feet (plus rooftop decks). Three of the floorplans have side by side garages, while the two B plans have two-car tandem garages. All garages have roughed in EV charging outlets.

With views of Langley Basin, the Fraser Valley and Mount Baker, the rooftop decks — from 600 to 675 square feet according to floorplan — extend the homes’ living space, says Justine Wells, Project Sales Director at Momentum Realty, adding privacy between the decks and gas hookups create a perfect place to relax or to entertain family and friends.

“

“All homes have a small, gated yard and access to that yard space from the garage level, which creates a mud room or a nice transition if you take the dog for a walk in the rain, you’re able to enter through the garage,” says Wells.

There is a lot of interest in the Addition homes from move-up buyers — families moving out of condos and looking for more space. There is also interest from buyers who want to transition to a smaller home from a single-family home, she says.

“You’re not compromising too much on space and (get the benefits of) strata living,” says Wells.

In the kitchens shaker-style cabinetry, quartz countertops, a gas range cooktop, flush-mounted wall oven and French-door refrigerator provide the essentials while the shiplap detailing on the island or peninsula adds visual interest.

In the ensuite bathroom, the wall tiles in the shower are set in an eye-catching chevron pattern that complements the matte black plumbing fixtures. The main bathroom includes a soaker tub.

Charyle Ross, principal at Ross & Company Interiors, prepared the two show homes to welcome potential homebuyers.

One townhome’s decor is Scandi-inspired with soft creams and textures complementing the light oak finishes.

“The main bedroom has a soft natural vibe,” says Ross, adding that a cream upholstered headboard against the wall painted a warm brown creates a relaxed look.

The other two bedrooms are decorated to appeal to the children in the family.

“One of the rooms is for a little boy, with upholstered wall panels (placed) behind the wooden teepee bed,” says Ross, adding there is also a reading nook with a comfy bean bag chair and a stylish floor lamp.

The girl’s bedroom is a “pretty in pink” room suitable for a preteen who loves rainbows and glitter, says Ross.

The second model home features moody earth tones with velvets, leather and antique bronze accents.

In this home, the principal bedroom shows how a custom walnut platform bed with built in nightstands enhances the space.

“We chose accent items like a faux mink throw to flank the base of the bed, abstract art above the headboard, and kept the theme of the antique bronze in the light fixtures. Overall, the bedroom feels very elegant,” says Ross.

One bedroom is decorated as a nursery with an antique brass crib, custom wall details and a ceiling fixture that ties all the brass elements together to give the space a vintage vibe.

In the other bedroom, a custom reeded white wall panel serves as a headboard, complete with a wall-to-wall shelf above it. “It’s a perfect place to showcase a teenage girls’ favourite possessions,” says Ross.

Addition will include three outdoor amenity spaces, with the children’s play area completed in the first phase of the project.
